Yes, You Will Make These Cookies For Christmas

Chocchipoatcookies

I posted this over at Slashfood too, but I thought I'd put it up here in case you don't read that site for some reason (bastards).

It's my recipe for Black and White Oatmeal Cookies. I took the recipe from the back of a Nestle Toll House Morsels bag and tweaked it a little. Make it for your next holiday party.

Black and White Oatmeal Cookies

1 14 cups all purpose flour
1/2 tsp baking powder
1/2 tsp baking soda
1/4 tsp salt
1 1/2 sticks butter (make sure they're softened)
1/3 cup granulated sugar
3/4 cup packed brown sugar
1 1/2 tsp vanilla extract
2 tablespoons milk
1 egg
1 cup milk (or dark) chocolate chips
3/4 cup white chocolate chips
1 cup quick cooking oats

Preheat oven to 375.

Combine baking powder, baking soda, flour, and salt on one bowl. In another larger bowl, combine sugar, brown sugar, butter, and vanilla. Beat until creamy (or close enough). Add egg and mix. Slowly add the flour mixture and the milk and mix well. Add oats and chocolate and white chocolate chips and mix well.

Drop by rounded spoonfuls onto ungreased cookie sheet. Cook for 10-14 mins until edges are brown and center is still soft. Let cool.

Wow, Costco really does sell everything.
A brilliant idea.

As usual, Fimoculous is keeping a great list of all of the year-end lists.

Meanwhile, Over At PBJ...

I know, I know, it seems like the only time I update here anymore is when I write a post that says "I know, I know, I haven't been updating here that much." Sorry. I keep saying that's going to change, and it will.

In the meantime, it's David Barringer Week over at PBJ. I interviewed David about his writing, his design work, and his philosophy about the creative life and, well, life in general. It's a good read. I'll have a new section up every day this week.
